Raptors coach Casey right to rip NBA officials
By STEVE BUFFERY, QMI Agency

Raptors head coach Dwane Casey -- and the Beezer -- are fed up with the officiating in the NBA costing the team. (Reuters)

TORONTO - Good for Raptors coach Dwane Casey for lashing out at the officials in the wake of that DeMar DeRozan non-call Wednesday night that may have cost Toronto the game against the Atlanta Hawks. At least four times this season the refs have blown a crucial call late in a game that ended up costing the Raptors. The NBA -- a league all about reputation officiating -- has already issued a couple of mea culpas for missed calls against the Raps and have reportedly contacted the team privately with a couple more apologies for bad or non-calls this season. Surely the pathetic officiating has something to do with the fact that the Raptors are based in Canada (as Casey hinted) and have no big-name superstars. GM Bryan Colangelo should officially request a meeting with commissioner David Stern to address the situation. It's beyond the point where the Raptors can being accused of being whiners. This sort of nonsense has been going on for years.
