Raptors report card. It's not pretty!
By RYAN WOLSTAT, QMI Agency

Raptors centre Jonas Valanciunas has been sidelined since injuring his right hand on Dec. 21. The injury has made grading the rookie's season difficult. Valanciunas and Andrea Bargnani returned to the court on Saturday, doing non-contact drills, but there is still no timetable on their return to action. (Reuters)

Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers will mark the halfway point of the season for the Raptors. The Raps rebounded from a hideous start and after reaching rock bottom, went on a furious rally to right the ship, before lately sliding back into the abyss.

Now, the club finds itself where no NBA squad wants to be: About as close to the bottom of the East as to the final playoff spot.

Very little is clear about this team, and the record says they all technically should get failing grades, but we’ll grade them anyway, mostly marking against our expectations of them coming into the season:

Quincy Acy – C. Stayed ready, absorbed advice from the coaching staff and players and is being rewarded with playing time. Still making a lot of mistakes, but improving each game and looks like an NBAer.
