Raptors' Lowry back on attack

TORONTO - Watching Alan Anderson try to sum up teammate Kyle Lowry is an exercise in patience.

You know he’s searching very hard for just the right words to use to describe his good friend and teammate, but it’s not easy.

It’s an indication of the level of respect he has for Lowry, a guy he has known since well before the two became teammates in Toronto.

For the past five summers, Lowry and Anderson have spent a chunk of their off-seasons working out together in Las Vegas. Both men like the arrangement feeding off the other’s competitiveness. Off-season workouts can become tedious, but put something on the table to compete over or someone on the other side to compete against and the tedium is reduced drastically.

During training camp, Anderson joked everything from who gets to the gym first in that dry 105-degree heat in Vegas is considered a competition among the two.

But as well as he knows Lowry, putting it into words is still no easy feat.
