Are these Raptors for real?
By Mike Ganter, QMI Agency

Since being put back in the staring lineup, Jose Calderon has led the Raptors to an impressive record. (DAVE ABEL/Toronto Sun)

ORLANDO — When do you start to believe what you’re seeing?

Are the seven wins in the past eight games who the Raptors are and will be or is it merely a reflection of the schedule that worked so hard against them in the early portion of the season finally working in their favour?

The answer, as it always is in this type of situation, is a little of both.

Not even the most ardent Raptors supporter can deny these heady Raptor days have come against teams going through the same type of struggles as Toronto did in November and early December.

The flipside of that is these are the very teams the Raptors have to handle if they have any hopes of reaching that eighth and final playoff spot.

And while that goal seemed to have become a pipe dream in early December, thanks to handling those also-rans over the past couple of weeks, the Raps find themselves back within striking distance of that goal.
