Coach Casey won't quit on Raptors

TORONTO - Fairly or not, Dwane Casey knows the spotlight is trained on him at the moment.

After a season where he took the city by storm, seeming to do no wrong in morphing the Raptors from a perennial defensive abomination to one of the league’s best groups at that end, Casey’s stock was high enough that picking up his option for 2013-14 was a no-brainer.

The future looked bright. President/general manager Bryan Colangelo (and Casey himself, though he took a more cautious approach) talked of a major step forward being on the horizon for 2012-13.

Instead, following the toughest 22-game schedule in the league, the Raptors sit 4-18 and Casey, Colangelo, Andrea Bargnani and just about everyone else are feeling the temperature rise while sitting uncomfortably on the Hogtown hot seat.
