SAN ANTONIO — For a change, Jay Triano and the Raptors were on the plus side of the bodies lost, bodies remaining stat.

The hope was both Linas Kleiza and Jerryd Bayless would be back for Wednesday’s game against the Spurs.

The Raptors did get Bayless back after a two-game absence with a sore left ankle, but Kleiza, who is nursing a sore right knee and a few other ailments, remained unavailable for the second consecutive game.

That left Triano with 10 players in uniform for the game.

Julian Wright, as he did in New Orleans, filled in for Kleiza while Bayless’ return means Triano at least has one backup swing man on his bench.

Wright gave Triano 11 points and six rebounds in 28 minutes in New Orleans in his first start of the year. Most of his points came on dunks or tip-ins, but Triano says he has been working on his shot.

“He makes pretty good passes at times and every once in a while you have to shoot the ball or guys aren’t going to play you,” Triano said. “He works hard at the defensive end and he can afford himself a few shots here and there.”

For the season Wright is shooting over 50% from the field but the vast majority of those makes have come from in close.
