Andrea Bargnani bobblehead night ran into a bit of a snag.
The main man had to beg off with injury.
Bargnani was scratched from the opening lineup Wednesday night because of a sore left knee.
“It was bothering him (Tuesday) morning and he played (Tuesday),” Raptors head coach Jay Triano said.
“(Wednesday) he’s worse and can’t go. He’s going to be evaluated by the doctors (last) night and I’m not sure what their next step of action will be after that.”
Rookie Ed Davis stepped in to start in Bargnani’s place and drew the unenviable first start assignment of battling Joakim Noah for the bulk of his evening.
“His growth is going to be playing against some of the best centres in the game and he has got an opportunity (last night) to move into a starting role after I thought he played probably his best game as a pro (Tuesday),” Triano said.
“He’s going to have to learn how to play on back-to-backs and against different guys every night and this is just part of the learning curve.
