TORONTO - It's finally game time for Ed Davis.
The Raptors 13th overall pick in the 2010 draft is headed to the Development League for a short-term rehab and conditioning stint with the Erie Bayhawks.
Davis' NBA debut was put on hold when he tore the meniscus in his right knee prior to the start of training camp. The incident took place during a pick-up game in Mississauga.
"This is a great opportunity for us to gauge where Ed is physically with regard to his knee and his overall basketball conditioning," Raptors President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo said in a prepared statement. "This is a perfect example where the D-League can be used as a ready-made and convenient tool in getting an injured player back on the court."
Davis joins Solomon Alabi, a second round pick in the 2010 draft, who was sent down to get some work in with the Bayhawks on Nov. 15.
