Hedo Turkoglu "has privately expressed to league friends a desire to return to the Sacramento Kings," according to Yahoo! Sports.
The Kings selected Turkoglu with the 16th pick of the 2000 draft, and the forward played three seasons there before moving on to San Antonio, Orlando and then, Toronto.
Turkoglu told a Turkish television station recently that he wanted out of Toronto after a hugely disappointing first season which followed his inking of a five-year, $53-million US deal.
The report states the two teams haven't exchanged offers, but likely would do so soon.
Though the Kings like Turkoglu, it is unclear how he would fit on a team that puts the ball in the hands of rookie-of-the-year Tyreke Evans as much as possible.
Sacramento would also need sweeteners and to unload bad salaries to take on such a bloated contract.
Turkoglu chafed when he did not receive the ball enough in Toronto.
