QUID PRO QUO

Mention Al Horford to a Raptors fan and the first thought that comes to mind is likely the night he put T.J. Ford in the hospital with a vicious swipe at the point guard's head as Ford went for a layup. While it's unlikely DeMar DeRozan was aware of that history, he wound up sending Horford into the stanchion on a hard foul in the first quarter. Horford got up favouring his neck and sent a glare DeRozan's way.

QUICK SUBS

Playing four games in five nights, Jay Triano knows it's imperative to keep his players as fresh as possible. With only today's off day to get any real rest, Triano said he's going to have to be subbing guys in with more regularity. True to his word, Triano had Chris Bosh back on the bench five minutes into the game. He got both Jose Calderon and Hedo Turkoglu rest 31/2 minutes later.

BACK-TO-BACKS

Playing their fourth back-to-backs of the season, the Raps came into the game averaging a 25-point loss after the first three.

ALL JACKED UP

Jarrett Jack hasn't forgotten his Georgia Tech roots and he had the ticket requests to prove it. He lined up about 30 for friends in the area and this was really just the beginning. Next stop is Washington where Jack has more ties. He was born in Fort Washington, Maryland. "I'd by lying if I told you I hadn't circled this trip on the calendar," Jack said.
