Jose's in the zone

The day will arrive when Jose Calderon will reflect with pride on the individual accolades he achieved.

But that time hasn't arrived.

When he vaulted near the top of the NBA's list for consecutive makes from the charity stripe, Calderon wasn't overly concerned at the attention.

When he tied Damon Stoudamire's Raptors record by dishing off 19 assists, Calderon, while honoured, wasn't exactly overcome with emotion.

"I think this kind of record is something you look back at when you are finished playing," Calderon said. "It is great to be right there with Stoudamire. He was a great player for the Raptors, so I am happy."

Calderon joined Mighty Mouse in Sunday's overtime win over Chicago.

Stoudamire was the better scorer and more adept at penetrating the lane, but Calderon is playing at an exceptional level of late.

Finally healthy, Calderon recorded six of his 18 double-doubles in March, a stretch that saw Calderon average 9.9 assists and 12.5 points, while making 24 of 25 free throws.

Points galore

The Raptors closed out March by winning a season-high four games in succession.

During that streak, the Raps averaged 116.3 points and yielded on average 101.8 points, including 42 fourth-quarter points to the Bulls on Sunday.

During that dizzying 12-minute stretch, Chicago made 65% of its shots, forced six Toronto turnovers and forced the five-minute extra period on a Ben Gordon buzzer beater.
