Cooking with Curry

Michael Curry spent one season in Toronto, but he left quite an impression on Chris Bosh.

In a season that saw Antonio Davis get traded and first-year head coach Kevin O'Neill get fired, Bosh experienced quite the rookie orientation in 2003.

The one consolation was Bosh's time with Curry.

"He taught me how to work," Bosh said of Curry. "He taught me the value of hard work, even when you didn't feel like it.

"He would grab me and tell me to get extra shots off, but I didn't understand why."

Bosh now appreciates the importance of diligence and preparation, courtesy of Curry.

Bosh isn't surprised that Curry went on to coach in the NBA, but he was taken aback at how quickly Curry ascended to head coach.

The Pistons are in a transition year and despite calls for Curry's head, he's expected to be in control next season.

"You could tell Michael was someone who was made for coaching," Bosh said.

Dice is nice

Antonio McDyess is coming off a rare 20-20 game for the Pistons, though the numbers he posted did come in a 116-111 OT loss to New York on Wednesday.

The veteran forward/centre became the first Piston since the days of Bison Dele to record a 20-20 night. Dele accomplished the feat in 1997.

Better known as Brian Williams, the power forward nearly became a Raptor when Isiah Thomas ran the team.

Questioning the Answer

Pistons guard Allen Iverson, who seems to always torch the Raptors, regardless of who he's playing for, is said to be about a week away from returning.

The Answer is nursing a back injury, but more than a few believe the Pistons will shut him down for the rest of the season.

Iverson is a free agent this summer and there's no chance he'll be back in Motown.
