While his players will get the day off, Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell and his staff will hit the books today in preparation for their first-round series against the Magic, which is expected to begin Sunday in Orlando.
"I'm going to sleep in and then come in and go to work around noon," Mitchell said of his plans.
Mitchell said he and his staff already have had some discussions about the Magic and "we already have ideas of what we're going to do for Game 1."
But the in-depth video work and determining exactly what matchups work best for his Raptors won't be decided until today.
Mitchell, though, said they'll be doing it all over again once the first game of the series is over.
"After Game 1 everything changes again," he said.
"You do all this prep for Game 1 and then everything is going to change after that."
SUNS SIGN JOHNSON
Linton Johnson was a Raptor for 10 days but now he's in Phoenix with the Suns and has a chance to be on their playoff roster.
Johnson, whose 10-day stint with Toronto amounted to two appearances, 10 minutes of actual court time and six points, signed with the Suns for the remainder of the season yesterday. Johnson previously had two 10-day contracts with Phoenix.
AROUND THE RIM
