Joey Graham is going to be around for at least one more season with the Raptors.

The team announced yesterday it has exercised the fourth-year team option on Graham's rookie scale contract.

Graham, one of the most athletic members of the Raptors has played well in spurts, but to date has lacked the consistency to broaden his role with the club.

Head coach Sam Mitchell, though, says Graham earned this contract based on what he did after Jorge Garbajosa went down last March 26 in Boston with a season-ending ankle and leg injury.

"We really feel like we would not have won the Atlantic Division if Joey had not stepped up in that position," Mitchell said. "I think Joey has earned it. He's gotten better every year so he's a guy you definitely want to keep on your roster."

Graham started eight of the 10 games following Garbajosa's injury. In those games he averaged 12.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in just over 27 minutes per contest.

ALL HANDS ON DECK

With just one practice remaining before the official close of training camp, Mitchell has had his biggest prayer answered.

"So far we've been pretty healthy," Mitchell said. "I've been impressed."

Outside of Chris Bosh, who is showing all signs of having put his left knee problem behind him, the Raptors got through their seven-game pre-season schedule unscathed.

PREPPING FOR PHILLY

Mitchell is confident his Raptors are going to be well-prepared for the Philadelphia 76ers, who provide the opening night opposition tomorrow.

"(Advance scout Micah Nori) has seen them four times so we've got a good idea," Mitchell said.
