Pape Sow hasn't had much to cheer about lately but his time is coming.

Sow was back in the lineup last night for the first time this season after fracturing a vertebrae in his neck during an NBA Summer league game this past July.

Sow entered the game with the Raptors in control with 3:01 to go in the third quarter last night.

At the mention of name from stadium address announcer Herbie Kuhn, 13,997 Raptors fans stood and cheered the popular Raptor.

"To be honest, I was surprised," Sow said after the game. "I wasn't really expecting it. They showed me they were definitely behind me. That was a great feeling. It was the best feeling of my life."

Not surprised, but very happy Sow got the reception he got from the fans, was Raps forward Chris Bosh.

"It was real special to see Pape out there especially after what happened," Bosh said. "I think tonight was a reward for him and he'll get better as time goes on. I'm proud of him."

Sow scored three points on the night for the Raptors, hitting a bank jump shot with just over a minute to go and then converting the free throw on the foul.

After the game, he was presented with the game ball by general manager Bryan Colangelo.

ENERGY TO BURN

Head coach Sam Mitchell was not worried about burning Jose Calderon out last night. The Raptors point guard, filling in for the injured T.J. Ford, played a team-high 40:15 last night.

"Jose is probably our best conditioned player," Mitchell said. "I felt he could go as long as we needed him to go."

Calderon said the extended minutes were fine with him.

"I will always be ready to play when the coaches call my name," Calderon said.

BRIEFLY

Raptors forward Andrea Bargnani was interviewed by the Charlotte Bobcats broadcast crew after the game in Italian ... Last night's announced attendance of 13,997 is the third lowest regular season Raptors home game in franchise history and the lowest since Feb. 1, 2006 when they drew 13,640, the Raptors all-time low.
