Denham Brown is bound for the D-League.

Bobie Singleton, the agent for the Toronto-born swingman, said yesterday Brown will report to Tulsa, Okla., for the start of the Tulsa 66ers training camp Sunday. The 66ers picked Brown eighth overall in the D-League draft last week.

The University of Connecticut product was a second-round pick by the Seattle SuperSonics in this year's NBA draft, but he was cut prior to the season opener.

"If he goes here (to Tulsa instead of exploring European options), what we're looking at is to get that call-up," Singleton said. "Denham and I made the decision that the best move for him is to stay around right here and play and be ready for a call-up."

66ers coach Joey Meyer became intrigued with Brown when he was an assistant coach with the United States last summer at the FIBA Americas world championship qualifying tournament. Brown helped Canada upset the U.S. for its only win of the tourney.

Brown won't be the only player with a Toronto connection in Tulsa. Centre Cezary Trybanski, an extra body with the Raptors in training camp, also is expected to play for the 66ers.

NO STOPPING IVERSON

Philadelphia 76ers star Allen Iverson might take more of a beating than any other player in the NBA, but Raptors coach Sam Mitchell doesn't see the point guard looking for another career anytime soon.

Before the Raptors hosted the Sixers last night, Mitchell was asked about the theory that Iverson could be on the verge of wearing down.

"That's what the people that are playing against him keep hoping," Mitchell said. "Allen Iverson is not going to stop playing until he wants to stop."

INTERESTING PROMOTION

It bordered on ridiculous, but the Raptors allowed some middle-aged man, clad in a team sweatsuit, to be introduced with the starting lineup last night as the sixth man of the game. He looked just a bit out of place jumping around with the team after the introduction was complete.
