The Raptors played veteran forward Eric Williams for the first time in six games, and only the third time in the past 10 games.

Word is that Williams, who desperately wants out of Toronto, is being showcased by the Raptors for a possible trade.

CHARLIE DOING GOOD

Raptors forward Charlie Villanueva will play host to 37 Grade 8 students from Amesbury Middle School this afternoon as part of Raptors Read to Achieve, the team's community relations program that promotes reading and online literacy.

The students will be treated to a special behind-the-scenes reading session inside the Raptors locker room at the Air Canada Centre where Villanueva will read to students, answer questions and distribute Raptors Read to Achieve gift bags.

Villanueva will be joined by Toronto-area author and journalist Dalton Higgins.

Dalton is the author of Hip Hop and Much Master T.

STUFF RELATED TO DAVIS

According to reports in New York, Knicks president Isiah Thomas will try to unload Jalen Rose this summer.

Thomas is said to be pursuing Al Harrington of the Atlanta Hawks and will try to swap Rose and draft picks to make the deal. Rose was traded to New York for Antonio Davis on Friday.

Meanwhile, with Davis now on the roster, but not with the team as of yet, the Raptors were able to activate centre Rafael Araujo yesterday.

Araujo has missed the past eight games because of a sore right shoulder. He didn't see any action yesterday.

AROUND THE RIM

Raptors rookie forward Joey Graham finished yesterday's 115-113 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Clippers with nine points and a career-high seven rebounds ... Another rookie, Villanueva, completed the 11th four-point play in franchise history at 3:28 of the second quarter.
