Charles Oakley, as always, had a blunt analysis.
Watching two of his former teams play each other at the Air Canada Centre last night, Oakley opined: "It looks like one team is getting better and one team is going the other way."
Oakley clearly meant that the Chicago Bulls are getting better and the Raptors are going the other way.
Oakley has been in Toronto since Monday, visiting friends and being a general man-about-town. He spent most of yesterday afternoon with current Bulls forward and former Raptor Antonio Davis.
Asked if he has any desire to play again, Oakley answered definitively: "No."
Oakley said he still has good memories of his days as a Raptor, although he feels the club has fallen on hard times.
"The Raptors were going in the right direction for a while," Oakley said. "Every year we improved when I was here. I like Toronto. I like the people here. I don't hold grudges, but I would like to see this franchise get back on track."
