Eric not benched

Raptors coach Sam Mitchell said Eric Williams did not play Friday night in Milwaukee against the Bucks because of a strained calf. The disgruntled forward did not practise yesterday and his status for a game today against the visiting Los Angeles Lakers is up in the air.

"I'm not a trainer," Mitchell said when asked if he expected Williams to play today. "I asked how he felt and he couldn't practice (yesterday). We'll see how he feels (today). It's a game-time decision."

Williams, who had hoped to be dealt prior to the trade deadline Thursday, did not talk to reporters for the third day in a row yesterday.

He simply flashed a peace sign to the media and walked away.

NO MORE TRADE TALK

Mitchell has been asked about the trade deadline all week and he's getting bored of the subject.

After all, the Raptors did not make a move at the deadline.

"For the 900th time, we're used to this trade deadline," he said.

"It's not that big an issue with us, it's part of our job. We've only been doing this all our lives.

"Guys get traded, guys don't get traded, guys want to get traded. We can't focus on that.

"When we come to practice, we don't talk about that stuff. We don't form a big circle and hold hands and talk about those things.

We just go do our jobs to the best of our abilities."

BRIEFLY

The Raptors are 5-5 in February heading into their final game of the month today. They are attempting to post their second winning month in a row after two losing months to open the season ... After the game today, the Raptors embark on a four-game trip, with games against the San Antonio Spurs, the Memphis Grizzlies, the New Orleans Hornets and the Dallas Mavericks.
