Among all the positive statistics yesterday, one stood out for Sam Mitchell.

The Raptors coach was especially pleased to see his team register a season-high 30 assists in a 109-87 win over the Golden State Warriors at the Air Canada Centre.

"It was a good game for our guys. They played hard and they played together as a team," Mitchell said. "They played the right way, the way we want to play -- moving the basketball. We had 30 assists and if we do that we are going to get better and better."

Point guard Rafer Alston, who had a game-high seven assists, also enjoyed the good passing.

"Coach was stressing that (passing the ball)," Alston said. "(Mitchell wants the Raptors to) continue to share the basketball, continue to move the basketball and make the extra pass."

GYM RATS

Sophomore Chris Bosh and rookie Rafael Araujo are becoming fast friends.

Chemistry between the two seems to be developing at a nice pace, perhaps because both players spend plenty of time together on off-days.

"I work out with Hoffa all the time," Bosh said. "We're young guys and we have to be in the gym first and leave last. Every time I'm in the gym, he's there. The more you work with somebody, the more familiar you are with them. We're just getting familiar with each other."

Alston, meanwhile, is impressed with Araujo's steady improvement. Araujo has started in six consecutive games.

"He's actually surprised me," Alston said. "To have so many DNP's and to be thrown into the fire, he has responded well. The good thing about Hoffa is he's taking up space in the middle, which enables us to get open on the perimeter."

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

The Raptors raised more than $92,000 for the Canadian Red Cross Society's Asia Earthquake and Tsunamis Appeal during Friday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Fundraising continued during yesterday's game at the Air Canada Centre and an on-court cheque presentation will take place before Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics.
