Raptors general manager Rob Babcock is optimistic his team will compete for a playoff spot. However, many NBA experts believe Babcock may be suffering from delusions of hardwood grandeur.

Sporting News magazine recently published its Pro Basketball edition and three of its five NBA experts selected the Raptors to finish dead last in the Atlantic Division. The other two had the Toronto team finishing second-last, behind the Boston Celtics.

The NBA has realigned is divisions with the arrival this season of the Charlotte Bobcats. The Raptors move from the Eastern Conference Central Division, which had eight teams, to the Atlantic Division, which includes Toronto, Boston, New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia. Each conference has three divisions of five teams.
