Fabio Maldonado was supposed to be a fighter and Stipe Miocic was supposed to be wrestler, good on the ground.
And that's exactly where Maldonado ended up just 35 seconds into the first round as Miocic sent the Brazilian to the carpet on his way to a TKO in the final event of Ultimate Fighter: TUF Brazil 3 at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium in Sao Paulo, Brazil Saturday night.
Coming into the fight, Maldonado had a 22-0 record as a professional boxer and a 21-6 record in his MMA career with 13 of his wins by knockout.
But that didn't bother Miocic, who drilled Maldonado with a killer left hand that stunned his Brazilian opponent.
But Miocic didn't settle for that. Not at all.
