TORONTO - The city has officially earned a solid reputation for being a potty-mouth.

But this time, the mayor can't be blamed.

Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri cemented that image when he yelled "F--- Brooklyn!" into a microphone before hundreds of fans at Maple Leaf Square on Saturday, as Game 1 between his team and the Brooklyn Nets raged on inside.

(Toronto lost, by the way.)

Sure, Ujiri apologized the same day, but the F-bomb inspired smug sports covers in New York newspapers, a number of online posts by sports blogs and media outlets, and plenty of tweets on the swearing -- not necessarily the apology.

The New York Post rubbed salt in Toronto's wounds with a sports page trumpeting the Nets' win: "After Toronto GM insults B'klyn, Nets shut up Raptors -- F#@K YEAH!"

This after the Toronto Sun composed a cover mocking the Nets' veteran players.
