You know you’ve hit the silly season in the NBA draft process when charges of tanking a workout begin.

That was some of the nonsense coming out of Cleveland when Jabari Parker had what some considered a less-than-stellar workout with the Cavs. So of course some genius put two and two together and Parker was purposefully botching the interview to ensure he wouldn’t be picked by the Cavs.

Really? A guy is going to make the effort to travel to Cleveland — and keep in mind we’re talking about Cleveland here — and then purposely look bad to leave a bad enough taste that they wouldn’t make him the first overall pick?

I mean here in Toronto there have been plenty of guys who didn’t want to get drafted by the Raptors, but those guys just turn down the invite.

The rule of thumb at this time in the draft process every year is take everything you hear with a grain of salt and then forget you ever heard it.
