The woman who recorded Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling's racist rant was attacked outside a New York City restaurant Sunday by two men who shouted racial slurs at her, according to reports.

V. Stiviano was leaving the restaurant with friends when witnesses said a brawl broke out around 7 p.m.

Her lawyer, Mac Nehoray, told the New York Post the two men "knew exactly who she was" and "they began to hit her and called her the N-word."

She wasn't seriously injured, but "one side of her face is extremely red."

Stiviano taped a conversation with Sterling in which he ranted against African-Americans. As a result, the NBA banned Sterling from the league, fined him $2.5 million, and is forcing him to sell the Clippers.

Sterling is suing the NBA for more than $1 billion over the decision.
