Former NBA all-star Ben Wallace is spending two days in a Virginia jail after pleading no contest to leaving the scene of a car crash.
Wallace, 39, drove his Cadillac Escalade through a wooden fence on Feb. 12, hitting a tree as well. When police arrived on the scene, nobody was inside the vehicle, according to NBC.
He was arrested Tuesday and sentenced to a year in jail. However, the Henrico County judge suspended all but two days -- Tuesday and Wednesday -- of the sentence.
The White Hall, Ala., native has been ordered to pay $611 in fines and court fees.
Wallace, a 6-foot-9 centre who played 16 NBA seasons for five teams, was a four-time all-star. Best known for his shutdown qualities, Wallace was named the NBA's Defensive Player of the Year four times (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006).
