Adam Silver’s first address to the league’s media in his role as commissioner was equal parts plans for the future and to stay the course.

Silver’s top goal is to ensure the game from the grassroots through to the NBA is strong. He has pushed any talk of possible international expansion or domestic expansion to the backburner.

But in line with improving the game, he would like to re-open talks about the minimum age requirement to play in the NBA. With the NBA player’s association in a state of flux without an executive director and having recently appointed a new president in Chris Paul, negotiating something like that has been tough.

Silver denied any evidence of tanking going on in his league but admitted he will continue to toy with the draft lottery system that has been through a number of changes over the past number of years.
