If he plays his cards right, Chauncey Billups has set himself up quite nicely for his retirement years.

The Detroit Pistons guard, along with former NBAer Junior Bridgeman, bought 30 Wendy's restaurants in the St. Louis area.

Billups, 36, is new to the fast food business. Bridgeman, meanwhile, is one of Wendy's top franchisees, owning 196 locations.

“I got involved (25 years ago) in Milwaukee," Bridgeman, 59, told the St. Louis Business Journal.

"It was the end of my career in the NBA. I always kind of liked the restaurant business and I thought Wendy’s had the best hamburgers. Here we are all this time later.”

Billups, the 2004 NBA Finals MVP, signed a two-year, $5 million contract with the Pistons last month.
