Don’t look now, but the Eastern Conference is more than just the Miami Heat.
In fact, it may not be for much longer the Heat own that top spot in the East.
A pair of Central Division teams are making plenty of noise these days and both may be adding to an already solid starting five in the near future if everything goes according to plan.
The division-leading Indiana Pacers have won 21 of its past 30 games after a slow 4-7 start to the year.
So far, they have done all of it without the team’s leading scorer of the past five seasons in Danny Granger, who has yet to play in a regular-season game.
Granger’s left knee injury put him on the sidelines after just two pre-season games in October, but there are indications he could be back in the lineup before next month’s all-star break.
Granger was on the floor and getting up shots prior to last Friday’s win over Houston.
