Wolstat's NBA fantasy team all-stars

Early all-star returns are out, so let’s take a look to see if the ballot reflects fantasy success, or is merely a popularity contest.

LeBron James leads all players in voting. No issues with that. Only his poor free throw shooting keeps him from being both the unquestionable top fantasy player and top NBA player.

Carmelo Anthony is next in the East and he’s been fantastic, combining monster scoring numbers with good work on the boards and better shooting from outside.

Kevin Durant leads the West voting and he’s arguably the premier fantasy player as well as the world’s best scorer.

Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul deservedly lead Western backcourt players.

After that, some players are coasting a bit on reputation. Dwight Howard has been poor, yet sits second to Durant in voting among forwards (a separate spot for centres has been eliminated this year).
