It's over for Odom in Dallas
By SPORTS NETWORK

Odom done with Mavericks

DALLAS - The Dallas Mavericks and forward Lamar Odom have apparently decided to part ways.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Odom and the Mavericks have worked out an agreement to cut ties. The paper said Odom will not be waived and will be paid for the remainder of the season.

If he had been released, Odom could have signed with another team, although he would not have been eligible for the playoffs.

The Mavericks acquired Odom from the Los Angeles Lakers just prior to the start of the abbreviated season in December. The Lakers had previously tried to deal Odom to New Orleans as part of a three-team trade that would have sent Chris Paul to Los Angeles, but the league would not approve the transaction.

Odom was reportedly unhappy playing in Dallas and averaged career lows with 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds in 50 games. He was even sent to the D-League in early March, but never played a game, and was recalled the next day.
