Lin has knee surgery

New York Knicks guard Jeremy Lin had successful surgery on his left knee Monday, the team said.
Lin is expected to be out approximately six weeks following the procedure on a chronic small meniscus tear in his knee.
He tweeted a picture of himself Monday night in a hospital bed and said he would have a question and answer session with fans on Facebook when his pain medication wore off.
"Praise God for a successful surgery...road to recovery! Lets [go]. Much love to the fans for your support and kind words," Lin wrote on Twitter with the photo attached.
An MRI revealed the extent of Lin's injury. He had missed three games prior to the announcement that he would have surgery with what the team had said was a sore left knee.
The injury turned out to be more serious and will keep Lin sidelined for the rest of the regular season.
The Knicks, of course, were rallied out of a mid-season funk by the surprising emergence of the previously unheralded point guard and currently occupy the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
Lin averaged 14.6 points, 6.1 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 35 games.
