BOSTON - Boston Celtics swingman Mickael Pietrus was cleared to travel Saturday morning after spending the night in a Philadelphia hospital following a nasty fall during Friday's contest against the 76ers.

Pietrus underwent tests in Philadelphia after suffering what the Celtics said was a questionable closed head injury. He is expected to visit Celtics medical staff upon his return to Boston.

While driving through the lane in the second quarter of Boston's 99-86 loss, Pietrus lost control when 76ers guard Lou Williams got a hand on the ball. Pietrus' back hit the floor hard and he immediately grabbed the back of his head near the neck. His head snapped back a bit, but never hit the floor.

Pietrus remained down for a while, then was stabilized and lifted onto a stretcher before being taken to the hospital.
