TORONTO - As had long been expected, the NBA lockout has wiped out the start of the pre-season schedule.

The NBA announced on Friday morning that it had postponed training camps and canceled 43 pre-season contests.

The Raptors had been set to open their exhibition grind in Minnesota on Oct. 11.

A game against Detroit the next night in Grand Rapids, MI and the first Air Canada Centre contest, also vs. Detroit on Oct. 14 have also been eliminated.

The Raptors now open against Boston on Oct. 16 at the Air Canada Centre, though few expect that game to be played either.

According to Yahoo! Sports, the NBA will decide about the fate of the remaining pre-season games by Oct. 1.
