CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan was reportedly fined $100,000 for speaking publicly about the NBA lockout.

The NBA confirmed Jordan was fined, but didn't say the amount, which was reported by several media sources.

Jordan made the comments to the Herald Sun newspaper in Australia. In the interview, published August 19, he said, "the model we've been operating under is broken. We have 22 or 23 teams losing money, (so) I think we have gotta come to some kind of understanding in this partnership that we have to realign."

The NBA has a policy of owners and players not discussing the lockout.
