Hill becomes first active player named to HOF board
By Sports Network

SPRINGFIELD, MA - Phoenix Suns guard Grant Hill has been named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame board of governors for a three-year term.

Hill will become one of the 22 members of the board and the first active player to do so.

"It is truly an honor to be elected as a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame board of governors and to represent the living history of basketball," said Hill. "It is important for the current generation of players to get involved with the Hall to help recognize the greatest in the game who have gone before us."

Hill, a two-time NCAA champion at Duke and a seven-time NBA All-Star, is the only three-time winner of the NBA Sportsmanship Award, having won in 2005, 2008 and 2010.
