Mitchell more accommodating, less entertaining
By MIKE GANTER, QMI Agency

LONDON — Sam Mitchell is no where near as combative or argumentative as he was when he was a head coach in Toronto.

Perhaps in deference to the Nets being Avery Johnson’s team, Mitchell is much more accommodating, but in the end, far less entertaining than he used to be.

Mitchell wouldn’t even rise to the bait when he was asked about the hassle of an overseas flight and a huge time change smack dab in the middle of a regular season.

“It’s not a distraction,” Mitchell said. “Once you get in and get on the time zone it’s pretty much just like a regular road trip.”

Mitchell said the best way the two teams can handle this is just by treating it as another road trip, although technically, this is a home game for the Nets.

As for plans off the court over the next few days, Mitchell said he’s got plans to go to “Buckingham Palace and take a picture of myself in front with my camera phone” and he’s got a line on the best fish and chips in London courtesy of a cab driver although he has yet to try them out.

Other than that, it’s just another game.
