Lakers' Barnes headed for surgery
By SPORTS NETWORK

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Lakers announced Sunday that forward Matt Barnes will undergo surgery on his right knee to repair a torn lateral meniscus.

Tuesday's procedure will be performed by Lakers team physician Dr. Steve Lombardo at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles. It is not yet known how long Barnes will be out of action.

Barnes suffered the injury during Friday's win over New Orleans.

In 37 games this season, Barnes has averaged 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds.
