NEW YORK - The National Basketball Association handed out a pair of $25,000 fines Saturday to Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl and Portland Trail Blazers guard Andre Miller for separate incidents.

Karl was slapped with the fine after he made public comments about game officials following the Nuggets' 113-112 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday.

Miller, who was suspended one game by the league earlier this month for a flagrant-2 foul, was penalized for throwing the ball in the stands following the Blazers' 103-98 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
