AUBURN HILL, MI - The Orlando Magic were without star center Dwight Howard and three other players on Friday against Detroit due to a stomach virus.

Swingman Mickael Pietrus and guards Jameer Nelson and J.J. Redick were also sidelined because of the illness.

Howard and Pietrus flew back to Orlando and will also miss Saturday's road game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The reigning Eastern Conference Player of the Month, Howard is averaging 21.3 points and 12.1 rebounds and has blocked a total of 43 shots in 18 games.

Orlando's top two scorers were out for Friday's game because Nelson is right behind Howard at 14.9 points a contest.

The Magic started Chris Duhon at point guard, while Marcin Gortat took over for Howard at center.
