EL Segundo, CA - Tragedy struck at the Staples Center Sunday night when a two-year-old boy died after falling 50 feet from a luxury suite following the Lakers-Warriors game.

The boy, Lucas Anthony Tang, was reportedly getting his picture taken before somehow falling over the glass, according to the Los Angeles Times. The paper said the parents were looking at the digital photos when the incident occurred.

"The Lakers organization would like to express our shock and sadness at the death of Lucas Anthony Tang," read Monday's statement from the club. "To go from a moment of happiness and enjoyment, to the loss of this boy's life, is tragic and heartbreaking. We would like to ask Lakers fans to join us in keeping Lucas and his family in our thoughts and prayers."

The death is being investigated by the LAPD's abused-child unit.
