No advice for Bosh from Vince

ORLANDO — Vince Carter wasn’t about to play along.

Following the morning shootaround, Carter walked out of the team locker room with a couple of take-out containers containing his lunch, but lunch was going to have to wait.

First there was the question of how he felt about the fact that he may have been recently supplanted as most hated man in Toronto basketball circles by a more recent ex-Raptor playing down the road in Miami these days.

“Cool,” Carter said. “It doesn’t matter. That’s the way sports is.”

Asked if he would be able to give Chris Bosh (the guy who has likely pushed him down the ladder) any advice when he headed back to Toronto for the first time (Feb. 16), Carter had another one-word answer: “Nope.”

To this day every time Carter plays in Toronto, he hears the boos. The novelty has long since worn off.

Bosh has had a front-row seat for most, if not all, of those returns. Based on the response Bosh’s name gets in Toronto these days, he’ll find out exactly what it’s like to be on the receiving end of that treatment in February.
