BOSTON -- Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers confirmed that guards Delonte West and Von Wafer scuffled Friday, and said that the team is handling the matter internally.
Multiple media outlets reported the fight, which the Boston Globe said occurred after a shootaround at the teamís practice facility. The paper also said Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge denied he was considering releasing West, which had been reported earlier in the day.
West, signed by the Celtics in September, is currently serving a 10-game suspension handed down after he pleaded guilty to weapons charges in Maryland this summer. Wafer signed with Boston in August.
