NEW YORK - Indiana Pacers rookie guard Lance Stephenson has reportedly been arrested for pushing his girlfriend down a flight of stairs.
According to the New York Daily News, Stephenson, 19, pushed Jasmine Williams down a stairwell in her Brooklyn apartment around 5 a.m. (et) Saturday morning. He was arrested later in the day.
Williams apparently had to be treated at a hospital for head and neck injuries after tumbling down 10 steps.
Stephenson, who played one season at Cincinnati, was noted for his off-the- court issues coming into this year’s NBA Draft. He was reportedly charged with third-degree assault and is awaiting arraignment.
Stephenson was the 40th selection of this year’s draft after spending one season with Cincinnati. He was the Pacers’ summer league team’s second-leading scorer with 14.8 points per game in four contests.
In his lone season with the Bearcats, Stephenson averaged 12.3 points in 34 contests.
