EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - The New Jersey Nets have reached an agreement in principle with free agent center Johan Petro.

Terms of the deal weren't announced, but The Star-Ledger reports it's for three years and worth $10 million.

"We are very pleased to add Johan to our roster," said Nets president Rod Thorn. "He is a young player with a defensive presence who should fit well into our frontcourt rotation."

The 7-foot Petro is a five year NBA veteran with career averages of 5.1 points and 4.2 rebounds in 306 games with Seattle/Oklahoma City and Denver. Last season, he posted averages of 3.4 points and 3.6 rebounds for the Nuggets.
