Boston Celtics update

The return of one-time problem child Antoine Walker to Beantown has paid instant dividends for the Boston Celtics. Under the guidance of coach Doc Rivers the Celtics have gone 17-9 since acquiring Walker from the Atlanta Hawks including a 101-99 victory over the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat Friday night.

Playing in front of a sold-out FleetCenter crowd, Paul Pierce nailed the decisive bucket with just nine seconds remaining to give the Celtics the victory and the Celtics' third win in a row and fifth in six games, putting them on the brink of clinching the Atlantic Division title for the first time in 13 years. Another Boston win or a Philadelphia loss will do that. Things have not been so easy on the road, however, where the Celtics remain under .500 at 17-22. That's an advantage the Raptors certainly will attempt to exploit.
