When you're 6-foot-10, 260 and very athletic, the world is your oyster. Yet another team has decided to take a chance on chronic underachiever Jerome Moiso, who was waived by the Raptors last week following the Vince Carter deal.

The New Jersey Nets are expected to sign the amiable frontcourt player today and Moiso, 26, is expected to be in uniform for New Jersey's game in Chicago on Tuesday.

The Nets will be the fourth team for Moiso, who was the No. 11 overall pick by the Boston Celtics in 2000. He has averaged 2.8 points and 2.9 rebounds and is considered a skilled player.

DRIVES 'EM CRAZY

Unfortunately, Moiso is also the kind of player who drives coaches crazy. Last season he was a fixture on Kevin O'Neill's bench and never cracked Sam Mitchell's rotation.

The Raptors embark on a three-game West Coast road swing beginning tonight in Phoenix, against Steve Nash and the high-scoring Suns. That is followed by games in Los Angeles against the Lakers on Tuesday and the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, before returning home to play Orlando next Monday.

The worst of the schedule is well behind the Raptors. In all of January, Toronto plays 10 home games and only four on the road, none back-to-back. This gives the 10-18 Raps a chance to creep back up to the .500 level.
