Kevin McCleery owned the paint, and the Carleton Ravens owned the game.

McCleery poured in 17 points as the Ravens advanced at the CIS Final 8 win an 83-72 win over the UQAM Citadins on Friday.

The Ravens also got 14 points from Elliot Thompson - who came in just 7-for-30 shooting in the post-season – and Willy Manigat, who made all eight of his shots from the field and free-throw line. Cole Hobin added an even dozen for the Ravens, who face a Saturday night semi-final (7 p.m.; 10 p.m. tape delay, TSN2) against the No. 5 seed Saskatchewan Huskies.

The Ravens were simply too much for the undersized Citadins, with 19 of their first 25 points coming from down low in the paint.

Arthaud Plesius had 15 points for the Citadins, while Gatineau native Eric Cote-Kougnima and Adil El Makssoud each hooped 11.

The Ravens played Saskatchewan at their home tournament in October, winning 97-79.

UBC and Calgary meet in the first semi-final (5 p.m., TSN2). The championship game is on Sunday.
