Canada was no match for Team USA, losing 12-2 in the gold medal game at the Americas World Junior qualification tournament in Cartagena, Colombia.
Canada (3-2) grabbed silver, qualifying for next year's IBAF World Junior championship in Seoul, South Korea, behind Team USA (5-0) and ahead of Venezuela (3-2) and Panama (2-3).

Port Hope's Cal Quantrill worked four innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out two.
Brendan Hendriks of Cochrane, Alta., knocked in a run in the first for Canada and Windsor's Brett Siddall homered to right in the sixth.
Toronto first baseman Daniel Pinero and outfielder Siddall were named to the tournament all-star team.
Caron Kelly, former Markham Mariner, pitched six innings for USA for the win.
