TORONTO - The New York Yankees finally saw the best that Drew Hutchison had to offer.

In his previous four outings against the Yankees this season, Hutchison had gone 1-3 with a 7.08 ERA.

The last tme he faced them, back on July 26, Hutchison came up with the win by holding the Bronx Bombers to two runs on five hits over 6.2 innings.

A solid outing no doubt but Saturday he was better.

Hutchison, 9-11, was at his best this day as over seven shutout innings he allowed just one hit -- a fourth inning double by Mark Teixeira. The right-hander also walked two, hit two batters and struck out nine -- one shy of his career high.

Led by Hutchison's pitching performance and a two-run home run by Jose Bautista, the Jays blanked the Yankees 2-0 with the rubber match in the series set for Sunday.
